S.A.L.S (Salford Alliance of Learning Schools) is a new, exciting and diverse coalition, united by the belief that we can make a difference.
Our alliance offers the opportunity for students to train as a teacher within Primary schools across the city of Salford. Training is coordinated by a highly successful School Direct lead school (Moorside Community Primary School), and gives students the ability to develop their skills.
S.A.L.S covers a broad demographic within the city of Salford, and encapsulates the diverse educational needs, challenges and rewards that all teachers can expect to be presented with.
This is what we believe makes us unique, and is what provides you with the very best possible start to your teaching journey.
Our School Direct programme is focussed on developing a deep understanding of educating primary aged children. Trainees will have access to placements in all schools within our alliance to ensure a genuinely comprehensive understanding of the learning processes, curriculum and emotional/social developments of the children in our care.
Trainees will work as part of a trainee network, mutually supporting and challenging each other – learning together and undertaking a range of action research projects in the classroom to trial and reflect upon the academic input from the course.
We run two School Direct courses with the below universities, with both universities you will receive a postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE) with qualified teacher status (QTS) which allows you to teach in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It’s also recognised internationally.
S.A.L.S is committed to changing lives by developing passionate, inspiring, energetic & outstanding professionals who are fervent in their aim to make a difference.
The schools within our alliance and the needs of our pupils are diverse, but we are united in one common theme:
