We have a reputation for academic success, which has seen sustained outstanding examination results over recent years consistently ranking us within the highest performing schools for A*-C results at GCSE Level. Our performance has been rated as outstanding across all Ofsted categories and has led to our designation as a National Teaching School.
We are proud at St Patrick’s that the expertise of the teachers, support staff and leaders within the school enables us to provide our trainee teachers with outstanding training opportunities. The support, advice and professional development that is given ensures that our trainees graduate fully prepared with the skills they need to enjoy working within schools. The commitment and passion of our teaching staff is also a key quality that our trainees aspire to. The high professional standards expected and the personal approach to the course that we offer enable our trainees to become teachers who have the skills and qualities needed to improve the life chances of the young people that they work with.
The School has an outstanding reputation for Teaching and Learning and works closely with schools across Salford and beyond in order to help raise standards and improve outcomes for young people. The Alliance Schools allow trainees to experience a wide variety of settings and the team carefully ensures that trainees are placed into supportive and encouraging schools for the training year.
As a school we have years of experience working with teachers at every stage of their career. St Patrick’s has successfully supported trainees on their journey into teaching and is recognised for our high quality teacher training programme. This School Direct Course brings together excellent practice from current research and it is an established and proven training programme, covering all aspects of teaching and learning and the skills needed to work in a school environment.
The training programme that we offer works in partnership with a University to allow our trainees to gain a PGCE as well as QTS. The support provided by the University complements our programme allowing our trainees to be a part of a wider learning and support network.
The School Direct team at St Patrick’s RC High School are experienced teachers working at all levels within the School. The course has a dedicated Strategic Director of Teaching School who ensure that all trainees are supported during their training year.
The St Patrick’s Greater Manchester Alliance ITT is managed by a dedicated team of experienced teachers, who are Specialists Leaders of Education.
