Manchester Teaching School Alliance works closely in partnership with MMU who have a notable track record within School Direct of partnership working alongside 18 school alliances. This enables trainees to draw on this partnership experience to best advantage and be assured of a solid foundation in pedagogical knowledge as well as an assurance that placements offered are diverse and geographically varied.
MMU is a nationally recognised provider, with well-established courses and highly experienced tutors who have subject expertise drawn from a wide range of school and other educational settings. When our students are attending their university days MMU’s on site £139 million Brooks building offers impressive, specialist teaching facilities for our School Direct trainees.

Catherine Roberts has worked in ITT for the last four years. She has an MA in Teaching and Learning and in an SLE for the Manchester Teaching School Alliance. She works closely with MMU as part of the Partnership Strategic Development Group.
Alice Corlett oversees primary ITT. She is Assistant headteacher at Barlow Hall Teaching School part of LINK Learning Trust. Working with mentors in a range of schools who are part of MTSA.

Chorlton High School is a larger than average (1500 students) urban, co-educational, 11 to 16 community comprehensive school situated in the Chorlton District of South Manchester.
