About Us

Wade Deacon High School is a stunning, state of the art building. The cutting edge design offers outstanding facilities and a dynamic Teaching and Learning environment, together with excellent conference facilities.

All of our School Direct PGCE primary and secondary training courses are managed by Wade Deacon High School, who is a very experienced leader of Teacher Training and the School Direct Programme. Our Professional Mentor, Jane Goulding, was awarded the University of Chester Outstanding Professional Mentor award for 2014-15, so we guarantee that you are in safe hands!

Regardless of what school you are placed in as your ‘home school’, you will be issued with a Subject Mentor, who will support your day to day teaching, and will guide you through your training. Your programme will be managed by Wade Deacon’s Professional Mentor, who will oversee that you are meeting all of the Teaching Standards, and will ensure that you receive high quality training and access to school-based training.

Wade Deacon is situated in a stunning, state of the art building (completed Easter 2013). The cutting edge design offers outstanding facilities and a dynamic Teaching & Learning Environment, together with excellent conference facilities. Wade Deacon is an 11-16 school, with over 1500 pupils. We have a large area for sporting activities, and facilities such as Drama and Dance studios and full catering kitchens etc. All pupils and teachers have access to computer and printing facilities.
The school’s ethos of ‘A Commitment to Excellence’ permeates through every aspect of school life. A disciplined, supportive and purposeful working environment enables pupils to excel across the whole curriculum, reflected in the success that pupils enjoy year on year at both Key Stages. Wade Deacon’s external examination results are consistently well above the national average.

Cardinal Newman are proud of our team of dedicated staff who provide an inspiring, structured and supportive learning environment, in which every student is challenged to realise their full potential and encouraged to be ambitious for their futures. Students have access to a wide range of activities which enhance their educational experiences. During the last academic year students have climbed the Great Wall of China, bathed in the Blue Lagoon of Iceland and indulged in the cultural delights of Paris and Berlin. St John Fisher is a small Catholic primary school situated in beautiful grounds with fantastic state of the art facilities. We are a busy, vibrant, friendly school and we have THE most wonderful children! All of our staff work extremely hard to make our school the best that it can be. Widnes Academy is a community school for children aged from 3-11, set in an established area of Widnes close to the Runcorn Bridge. We have a well-established, and extremely well-resourced, Foundation Stage unit which includes a Nursery with places for 52 children. The children have access to a 2 playgrounds as well as a playing field used for sporting activities. The school has a dedicated computer suite and all classrooms have interactive whiteboards. We pride ourselves on our close links with the local community and the support we offer to both parents and children.
