North West SHARES SCITT has been a registered provider for initial teacher training since 2014. To date we have successfully trained over 120 Primary and Early Years teachers and have exceptional employment and retention rates.
Our training programme is based in Skelmersdale, however, we work with partner schools across Sefton, Ormskirk, Wigan, Chorley, Preston and Southport which ensures that all of our trainees are trained in contrasting schools across the North West.
We are in the unique position of working in close partnership with Lancashire LEA and are proud of the high quality subject knowledge training provided to our trainees, which is delivered by their highly skilled and experienced Senior Consultants.
We carefully select, train and nurture only the most outstanding applicants – our SCITT trainees are considered to be highly exceptional classroom teachers as they enter their NQT year and we are proud of their achievements – as we would be of yours!
The training programme is rigorous and demanding, however, we ensure that our trainees have enhanced experiences which add to their repertoire of skills, including a period of training in Harrow where 96% of children have English as an additional language. Our previous trainees valued this experience immensely as it provided them with contrasting teaching experiences as well as time to relax and socialise with their cohort, making friends for life.
Successful trainees do not complete their training at the end of the year, they remain part and parcel of our ongoing support, training and development programme as we provide NQT, RQT and routes into leadership programmes for our teachers – ensuring that you have outstanding ongoing professional development as you progress throughout your career. Once part of our SHARES SCITT family – you remain just that.
Ofsted comment positively on the programme, ‘everyone shares the same ambitious vision, all are absolutely dedicated to developing inspirational teachers and future leaders’ October 2015.
