The Kingsbridge Initial Teacher Training Programme
At Kingsbridge, we believe that every great success story starts with a great teacher.
At Kingsbridge we train outstanding teachers.
If your ambition is to help to transform lives; to motivate, inspire and help students develop into amazing people – then Kingsbridge is the place for you.
Teaching is a demanding profession. It involves a commitment to achieving the very best outcomes for the children and young people in your care. For this reason, there can be few more rewarding life choices. Over the course of our 15 year history we have been privileged to help hundreds of graduates to realise their dream of pursuing a career in the classroom.
We have an excellent track record and have been recognised by Ofsted in two inspections as an ‘Outstanding provider of teacher training’. We are also proud to say that, over the past three years, 100 per cent of our trainees have gone on to get jobs in the teaching profession.
Kingsbridge offers a one-year school-based programme designed to enable you to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding that you will need to meet the Teachers’ Standards. At the end of the programme you will be awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE (SCITT) from Manchester Metropolitan University.
The Kingsbridge ITT programme is an ‘in school’ training programme and is designed to enable our trainees to develop teaching practice with pupils and colleagues. Kingsbridge and its partnership schools work together to provide a strong programme of first hand experience and professional development with support from trained mentors across the training year.
The Kingsbridge Vision is:
- To train teachers of the highest quality
- To ‘grow’ our own
- To provide rich and high-quality training experiences and CPD
- To ensure that our trainees become outstanding teachers
- Develop a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a teacher and apply these in a school context
Above all, our trainees tell us that they enjoy their time with us. They love the fact that they are based within a school from the moment they start with us and really appreciate being treated as valued members of the school’s team. At the end of their training, our Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) leave us equipped with the skills, knowledge and experience they need to be confident and competent teachers ready to enjoy a fantastic career in teaching. Many accelerating into leadership posts within 5 years!
If you have any queries, would like to chat to someone, take a tour of the centre or visit one of our open days then please get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully welcoming you as a Kingsbridge trainee.
