To manage the operational running of the Ashton on Mersey SCITT.
Prior to working at Ashton on Mersey Sam has worked for the NCTL and Ofsted. Since 2012 she has been working at Ashton with experience of all areas of our Teaching School work. Sam’s role involves the operational management of all SCITT activity; placements, facilitators, finance, quality assurance, marketing and recruitment.
I am a qualified primary school teacher and have transferred my skills into running a very successful School Sport Partnership with Ashton on Mersey as the hub school for the last 8 years. In 2014 I was appointed Course Leader for our Primary with PE programme I am responsible for the operational running of this programme plus the leadership of its future development.
I am Assistant Principal at Ashton on Mersey School, having taught for 25 years as a PE teacher, Head of Department, Head of Year and currently responsible for Performance Management and Staff Development. My time is split between school improvement activities for the Teaching School, across the Trust and my leadership responsibilities at Ashton. I joined the SCITT team this year and will be responsible for the secondary trainees including pastoral support, quality assurance and strategic development of our work.
To support the team with the operational running of the SCITT.
Karen will keep track of student’s attendance and review documentation throughout the year. Karen will be supporting Sam with all SCITT activity including questions regarding placements, centre based sessions, etc.
