About Us

The Alliance for Learning SCITT (previously Greater Manchester Bright Futures SCITT) is a dynamic, high-quality teacher training provider offering a range of school-based routes into teaching in the Early Years, Primary and Secondary sectors.

We work in collaboration with the Alliance for Learning and the Primary Alliance for Learning, a partnership of over 60 schools, colleges and universities across Greater Manchester and Lancashire.

Led by two outstanding schools (Altrincham Grammar School for Girls who lead on our secondary teacher training and St Bede Primary Academy who lead on our early years and primary training), we have a proven track record of providing outstanding teacher training for over 10 years.

We offer the following routes into teaching:

School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) in primary and secondary
Graduate employment-based Early Years Teacher Status
The Alliance for Learning SCITT aims to promote excellence in all aspects of education through focused, central and school-based training activities. Trainees are based in our partner schools for the duration of the programme.

Teaching is a challenging yet extremely satisfying career. If you enjoy working with children and young people, have a passion to help them reach their potential in life and you would like to contribute to society, becoming a qualified teacher is an ideal profession for you.

We believe that every child deserves the very best start in life, irrespective of background or circumstance. We are committed to training teachers who can provide the next generation with the opportunity to develop happy, successful futures
We understand that today’s graduates want to make a difference, but they are also ambitious and keen to progress. That is why we provide a comprehensive training package not only during your initial teacher training year, but throughout your career to support you from NQT to middle leader, to senior leader to headship.
We are able to offer you varied and interesting opportunities for developing your career.
We value and respect your well-being and place a strong emphasis on coaching and developing talent, which is why we offer mindfulness and coaching courses to all of our employees.
You will be supported and guided throughout your training year by highly qualified, experienced subject and professional mentors.
You will gain a PGCE (awarded by the University of Manchester) and QTS status or you wil gain EYTS status.
